About Mawarnkarra Health Service (MHS)
Mawarnkarra (MHS) is the largest primary health care provider providing direct services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples living in the Roebourne area. MHS provides the families of Roebourne with a fully functional and accredited Clinic that treats approximately 3,000 people per year.

The Position
The role of Immunisation Nurse is to assist with increasing immunisation uptake as per the Australian Immunisation Schedule for Mawarnkarra patients. The main target population focus for this role is age 16yrs and above, however support to the Child and Maternal Health team may be required for child immunisations. The role will also participate in community education and health promotion to promote uptake and address immunisation concerns within the community.
This role a full-time, fixed term contract for 12 months from commencement date.

The Requirements
Undertake immunisations for Mawarnkarra patients as per Australian Immunisation Register (AIR). Focus on age group greater than 16 years.
Identify patients at risk of COVID 19 and other associated respiratory illnesses to offer immunisation
Recall patients who are overdue for vaccinations
Review recall protocols for immunisations with a view to make more efficient / effective
Utilise Mawarnkarra patient management system to correctly record immunisations so they flow onto the AIR register and AIR claims are processed.
Provide primary health care clinical nursing assessments and services as required
Work collaboratively with members of the clinical team to ensure the effective delivery of clinical care to patients.
Participate in case conferencing as necessary.
Collaborate closely with GPs on care of patients.
Provide advice, education and referrals as necessary.
Participate in care planning.
Perform routine pathology tests, screening and other technical tasks such as ECGs, wound management and administration of medication
Promote Medicare billing in the service consistent with laws governing Medicare and in a manner that optimises Medicare billing arrangements
Other Requirements
Registered Nurse on AHPRA
Australian recognised Immunisation Certificate
Adult Immunisation Experience
Experience in cold chain management
Health promotion on immunisations
Must hold a current NDIS Worker Screening when role is to work with those with a disability
Consent to undergo a Working With Children Check and a National Police Certificate. Employment is conditional pending the outcome of these checks.
Must hold a current Australian Drivers Licence
Current CPR Certificate
All employees are subject to regular random drug and alcohol screening.
Attend and participate in the professional development program and relevant external seminars and conferences, as approved
Remuneration Benefits include:
Salary of $120,030 - $123,085 p/a
11.5% Superannuation
Housing and District allowances (subject to eligibility)
Full Time, Monday to Friday - No more weekend work!
