Enrolled Nurse Parent & Infant Unit

20 hours per fortnight (night duty) - Permanent Part time

About the role

This position supports the staffing profile being predominately night duty 2 shifts per fortnight available (20 hours per fortnight, permanent part time).

The Parent & Infant Unit provides specialist, contemporary perinatal mental health treatment for families during pregnancy and up to infants being 12 months old. The EEN has a role in supporting parents through mental health difficulties as they journey through the perinatal period. This position supports the staffing profile being predominately night duty.

• Provide exceptional mental health support and treatment for consumers
• Provide evidence-based treatment options to support parents, infants and families
• Implement approaches to mental health treatment and evaluate progress
• Support quality improvement initiatives

Key Responsibilities

• Complete mental state exams and risk assessments for consumers in their care
• Complete clear and accurate documentation in a timely manner
• Completes medication administration in adherence to overarching governance.
• Undertakes tasks under direction of RN/ANUM on duty
• Ensures safety of others is considered and maintained
• Provide recovery-orientated consumer-led mental health care

Skills and experience

• Experience in mental health nursing preferred
• Medication endorsement essential
• Knowledge of mental health nursing assessment
• Ability to acknowledge and engage the strengths of consumers who are seeking support

This position is paid in accordance with the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement. The classification is Enrolled Psychiatric Nurse Level 2 - (PE21-PE23/YD22) which ranges from $35.27 - $36.84 per hour
