Our client is, a very successful large fruit & vegetable wholesaler, supplying to over 100 independent supermarkets across Victoria. Founded in 2003, and based at the Melbourne Markets in Epping, our client aims to provide their customers with the freshest produce available, by purchasing from quality assured growers and merchants.

Their range encompasses all types of fresh produce and enables them to create a varied selection of products from the basic to the exotic lines. With hundreds of items available they can supply minimums for their customers to maximise their range with reduced shrinkage.

Due to increased expansion, they are seeking experienced Forklift Operator for their Epping distribution facility to work the following Night Shifts per week in a permanent part time position.

Sunday Night - 8.00pm - 6.00am

Tuesday Night - 8.00pm - 6.00am

Thursday Night - 8.00pm - 6.00am

About the Role

Reporting into the Warehouse Manager, as a Forklift Operator, your primary objective is the organising and setting up the produce for distribution to supermarkets and general warehouse duties.

They are looking to employ efficient. experienced and hard-working, night shift forklift operator, to organise the distribution requirements of produce and to be team players, where you may be sometimes utilised in varying roles in forklift operation or general pick packing duties.

The responsibilities include, but not limited to, taking inventory of all the warehouses produce and ensuring that the produce is suitably organised ready for packing and distribution and prevent damage during transit.

Ultimately, as an outstanding forklift operator you will adhere to all warehouse safety practices as well as demonstrate exceptional organisational, time management and communication skills as you ultimately play an important role in the business's success.

Please note – These are permanent part time positions, 3 nights per week.

Core responsibilities.

Forklift operation in setting up the warehouse and also forklift operation in preparing orders of produce for distribution

Forklift operation in retrieving specified produce in the warehouse as well as packing, sealing, and labelling orders in adherence to company policies & procedures.

Inspecting of produce for any damages or discrepancies

Maintaining an accurate record of all produce received and distributed.

Preparing and checking shipment documents

Maintaining a clean and tidy work area

Demonstrating a high level of safety and process compliance at all times

Skills and experience

Must have experience and highly competent in forklift operation

Experience working in a warehouse environment in a forklift driving role.

Must have proven experience in working in a Night Shift role.

Ability to work Night shift - Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday 8.00pm - 7.00am

Basic computer literacy and ability to read and understand relevant paperwork.

The ability to safely operate warehouse machinery and equipment.

Be fit and healthy and can lift a maximum of 15kgs.

Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment.
