About You

You’ve worked in hospitality or events (ideally both!) and you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves. You’re equally happy talking to a client about their dream event as you are pulling a beer, helping with pack-down, or jumping behind the coffee machine if needed.

You’re:

Organised, reliable and proactive – you don’t wait to be asked, you just get things done.

Creative – you’ve got ideas for days, from trivia nights to community events.

Comfortable working weekends and across a flexible roster — because that’s when the action happens.

Happy to work across all areas — from the office planning events, to assisting with open/close procedures, to being out on the floor making guests feel welcome.

Hospitality is in your blood. Community lights you up. And you genuinely care about making memorable experiences for people — whether it’s a kids’ birthday, a corporate golf day or a Friday night band gig.

Now we’re dreaming even bigger — like bringing back the iconic Bulimba Festival for 5,000 locals — and we need a hands-on Functions & Events Assistant to help us make it happen.

About the Role

We’re on the lookout for a dynamic Functions & Events Assistant who can move between the floor and the office with ease.

You’ll be:

Supporting our Functions & Events Manager with planning and running events

Running smaller functions independently

Assisting behind the bar and on the floor when needed

Helping with venue open/close procedures

Coordinating suppliers, entertainers and staff

Helping with food running, bump-ins, pack-downs

Supporting the team on weekends and evenings as required

Creating content (or capturing moments!) for social media and promotion

Assisting the GM with ideas, scheduling, and general operations

Basically, you’ll be the glue between the events and hospitality sides of the business.

You’ll work closely with the Events Manager, Bar Manager, Operations Manager and GM — and be supported by a team that values initiative, energy and a good laugh.
