My client is a Japanese Insurer with significant operations in Australia in the general insurance market. Due to continued growth and a number of key initiatives that are being implemented they are creating a new position as

Operations Manager, responsible for

• Managing day to day operational activities
• Overseeing service delivery including vendor management
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensuring compliance for regulatory requirements (APRA)
• Project management and oversight of IT projects and initiatives
• Risk assessments and new risk framework implementation where required
• Managing 3rd party suppliers and vendors

You will be able to demonstrate

• An excellent understanding of the general insurance industry
• An exceptional drive and initiative to identify potential issues and recommendations for improvements
• Prior relationship management and ideally experience in managing vendors
• Prior experience in leading business initiatives and identifying process improvements
• An understanding of the regulatory environment for the insurance sector
• Excellent communication skills (Japanese speaking a high advantage but not essential)
