Role Overview
Launch recruitment are looking for a Rubrik back up specialists for a 7 month contract. We are seeking a skilled and proactive Rubrik Backup Specialist to oversee the management, optimization, and support of our Rubrik backup and recovery solutions. This role is essential in ensuring data integrity, disaster recovery readiness, and overall business continuity. The successful candidate will have in-depth expertise in Rubrik, including Polaris, and will work closely with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to maintain and enhance our backup ecosystem across both on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities �� Rubrik Platform Management

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Rubrik backup and recovery systems, including Polaris.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, health monitoring, and performance tuning of the Rubrik platform.
• Ensure data is backed up, archived, and restorable according to business and compliance requirements.

��️ Backup & Recovery Operations

• Manage and verify backup schedules, job success, and data recoverability.
• Implement retention policies and conduct routine recovery drills.
• Ensure data protection aligns with disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

�� Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis

• Investigate and resolve backup-related issues promptly.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes to minimize recurrence.

⚙️ Automation & Scripting

• Develop and maintain scripts to automate backup processes and reporting tasks.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve operational efficiency.

☁️ Hybrid Cloud Integration

• Manage Rubrik backup environments across both on-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Ensure secure and seamless data movement across environments.

�� Data Protection & Cyber Resilience

• Support the organization’s cybersecurity and resiliency goals through strong data protection practices.
• Work with InfoSec teams to align backup and recovery strategies with threat mitigation plans.

�� Collaboration & Communication

• Collaborate with storage, networking, server, and application teams to ensure Rubrik integrates effectively across the IT landscape.
• Provide technical guidance and support to stakeholders and end-users as needed.

�� Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

• Maintain up-to-date documentation for system configurations, standard operating procedures, and recovery workflows.
• Share knowledge and provide training for team members and relevant stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience deploying and supporting Rubrik backup solutions in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of Rubrik Polaris and its capabilities.
• Expertise in backup and disaster recovery principles, data lifecycle management, and storage technologies.
• Proficient in scripting/automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments (on-prem and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure).
• Solid troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Rubrik certifications (e.g., Rubrik Certified Professional) or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with ITIL framework and change management processes.
• Knowledge of cyber resilience best practices.
• Experience in regulated or compliance-driven industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, government).
