Easts Leagues Club, a cornerstone of Brisbane’s sports and entertainment scene, is excited to share that our newly renovated functions space is already welcoming guests! As we continue to host an exciting mix of business and corporate functions, we’re on the lookout for a passionate Functions Manager to help us take things to the next level.
The Role:
As the Club's Functions Manager, you will be the driving force behind organising and executing unforgettable events at our state-of-the-art function spaces. You'll work closely with clients to ensure their events are seamless, memorable, and exceed expectations. From initial enquiry through to the final farewell, you will manage all aspects of event planning, coordination and execution. The role also includes but is not limited to:
Lead, guide and train your team in the delivery of exceptional service.
Provide hands on assistance with support of a small team.
Produce and communicate detailed event sheets to all stakeholders.
Roster staff levels according to revenue and wage KPI's.
Capable of developing and producing function standards.
Liaise with Catering team on menu requirements.
Manage and advise on audio visual requirements and coordinate external resources as required.
Actively participate in marketing and promoting the venue to acquire new business.
Coordinate and assist with function set-ups.
Ideal Candidate:
Tertiary qualifications in Tourism, Hospitality and/or Event Management.
Preferably 3+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.
Ability to present a room that is both visually stunning and operationally savvy.
A strong working knowledge of function operations, and food and beverage.
Outgoing personality capable of building rapport with a variety of clientele.
Ability in juggling multiple priorities from sales to operations (often with tight deadlines).
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Flexibility of working hours including working weekends and evenings essential.

About Easts Leagues Brisbane
The origins of Easts Leagues Club can be found in 1917 when The Coorparoo Football Club first competed as the “Bengal Tigers”. Although the “Bengal” title was dropped soon after, the club has proudly sported the Tiger emblem ever since.
In 1922 the Coorparoo Football Club took a five year lease on the Number 2 Ground at Langlands Park Reserve. Little did they realize the significant impact that this decision would hold for the future of the club in the years to come.
The 1930s and 40s shaped our country and Rugby League was no exception, with the format of the competition and the boundaries of the districts changing throughout this period. The formation of Eastern Suburbs District Leagues Club took place in 1934 with the cessation of The Cooorparoo Football Club.
