Business Analyst - 18 month contract

We have an opportunity for a Business Analyst to join the our team in the Sydney office. This is an 18 month contract role in the Transitions team, working collaboratively with Technology team to manage a new system implementation and decommissioning of a legacy system.

The Role

This role covers project delivery, technical opportunity analysis and operational re-engineering and has responsibilities across the following key areas:

· Analyze, document and baseline business requirements

· Prepare use-cases and functional requirements documentation

· Collaborate with tech team to suggest, build and implement solutions; assess the outcome of product development activities and solution alignment

· Prepare Requirements traceability matrix

· Conduct UAT and troubleshooting of issues

· Document and keep track of reported issues, find patterns where different test cases might show application defects

· Identify opportunities to improve user experience by suggesting system and process improvements

· Prepare data mapping documentation, assess differences and gaps between data objects from various platforms

· Effectively pinpoint breaks in system workstreams, work with business stakeholders to identify paths to address breaks or gaps, suggest alternative tactical solutions while the target solution is being in built phase Tertiary level qualifications in Finance, Information Technology or a related discipline

Qualifications & Attributes

· Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance or relevant field

· Domain knowledge of managed funds administration preferred

· Visio / PPT presentation skills

· UML modeling and Process/Data flow charts

· Proficiency in MS SQL and XLS

· Problem-solving skills

· An ability to creatively and pragmatically assess use-cases, and suggest workarounds or alternative paths

· A demonstrable understanding of the SDLC processes and the key success drivers

· Strong communicator at a senior business level
