About the role

Temporary full time opportunity to deliver advanced Orthoptic services to stakeholders/consumers within Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS) Ophthalmology Service to achieve excellence in patient care, education, and research. This includes implementing and monitoring operational activities and leading professional governance activities for a small team of Orthoptists.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Deliver specialised Orthoptic clinical and consultancy services to STARS Ophthalmology Service in accordance with accepted professional practices, legal and ethical requirements with a high degree of independence.
  • Provide advanced clinical advice and direction to a team of Orthoptists to ensure effective service delivery and quality outcomes applying change management, conflict resolution and negotiation skills where necessary.
  • Prepare, analyse and interpret data and trends for caseload allocation, service improvement, workforce planning, and resource allocation.
