About the Role

The role of the Clinical Coordinator (supported accommodation) is a supportive role to the Clinical Manager of the service. The aim is to ensure high standards of nursing care are maintained across the service, supporting residents with disabilities and high complex care needs. The role also ensures NDIS Quality Standards are being adhered to, utilising and considering best practice and clinical underpinning.

The Clinical Coordinator has the role to devise, enhance, review and implement competency training programs and tools in accordance with complex care across service, to develop and roll out relevant clinical procedures in accordance with Clinical Governance, Quality Standards and Frameworks, to assist with the general oversite of clinical issues within the service, by supporting the Clinical Manager to participate in practices such as clinical audit across the SDA services and to partake and implement quality through appropriate assessment processes e.g. assist with the assessment and onboard for potential new residents.

Key Role Accountabilities:

Take contribute to the enhancement, revision, and execution of clinical policies and procedures.

Support the General Manager with regards to ensuring the service is sustaining performance improvement as well as quality improvement activities, including participating in clinical audits across the service.

Provide support and guidance to Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses for general practice, assessments, care plan development, monitoring and review for residents.

Execute senior clinical duties/tasks when other team members are absent.

Assist in the review of progress notes and infection control measures and provide guidance to ensure best practice.

Enhance, devise and implement competency-based training tools and coinciding procedures relating to complex care service wide.

Maintain a robust working rapport with Senior Managers, Facility Managers and their teams of Disability Support Workers, Enrolled Nurses (EN), Registered Nurses (RN) and Clinical Nurses (CN).

Support the intake process for potential new residents for SDA sites and within WMQ’s expanding service in the SDA sector.

Work within the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

About You

Must hold a current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

Experience in management or a senior lead nurse role is essential

An advanced certificate in Leadership or management is required preferable

Extensive experience and knowledge of clinical care and management in the area of disabilities and complex high care.

Knowledge of accreditation, quality and standards required to be met under the NDIS Quality Safeguards Commission.

Demonstrated ability in developing and providing education and training to staff in all levels

Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the competence to work with different individuals from diverse background

Must be able to develop long-standing relationship with residents in our service and their families

Needs to possess leadership and coordinating skills 10. Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive in the course of work.
