Are you passionate about architecture, sustainable design, and high-quality timber products? An exciting opportunity has opened up with one of Australia’s leading wholesalers of timber, flooring, and panel products. This well-established, second-generation family business is growing rapidly and is built on close to 50 years of trust, integrity, and long-term partnerships.
This newly created position represents a rare chance to take the lead of the company’s architectural division at a national level, driving growth and brand presence across both high-end commercial and residential projects.
The Role:
As the Architectural Business Development Manager, you will be the key point of contact for architects, designers, builders, and developers across the country. You will be responsible for positioning our clients premium, locally-produced hardwood timber products as the material of choice for high-spec projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the architecture, design, and construction sectors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders
- Deliver engaging and tailored product presentations to influence project specifications
- Collaborate with clients to offer custom solutions meeting both design and performance goals
- Stay across market trends, competitor activity, and new opportunities in the architecture and construction space, while using your technical know-how to help develop innovative timber solutions that meet Australian building codes and industry standards
About You:
You’re a commercially minded relationship builder with a passion for working with architects, designers, and builders to bring great projects to life. You're someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, takes initiative, and enjoys shaping your own path.
You’ll also bring:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the architecture, design, or construction sectors (ideally in Victoria)
- A strong network of industry contacts and the confidence to engage at all levels
- Timber industry experience — this is essential
- An engineering mindset with a solid grasp of Australian building codes and standards
- Experience using CRM systems and tendering/quoting platforms such as Estimate One
- A willingness to travel nationally to meet clients and attend key industry events
