About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with end-to-end payroll system implementation experience to lead a business-critical transformation within a large, complex environment.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-visibility projects involving multiple stakeholders, legacy system replacement, and tight delivery timelines.

You’ll be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of the payroll system uplift—from initial scoping and vendor engagement through to data migration, integration, and go-live—while ensuring seamless alignment with HR, finance, IT, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of the payroll system replacement project
• Oversee integrations with existing systems (e.g. HRIS, T&A, Finance)
• Manage third-party vendors, internal teams, and project governance
• Track milestones, budgets, risk mitigation plans, and reporting
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and audit frameworks
• Lead change management and communication across the workforce

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience leading payroll implementation projects in complex organisations
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation, compliance, and workforce data
• Experience with platforms such as aPay, Dayforce, ADP, Chris21/iChris, or similar
• Ability to manage both technical delivery and business engagement
• Skilled in vendor management, stakeholder reporting, and project governance
• Comfortable working in hybrid environments (Agile/Waterfall)
