Delmont Private Hospital is an accredited standard business sponsor and independently owned 88 bed private mental health facility providing treatment to patients across General Acute Adult Psychiatry, Substance Use and Addiction, Young Adults and Aged Psychiatry. With a holistic inpatient program and an extensive Day Program, Outreach Service and Consulting Suite, Delmont has over 90 Doctors treating a range of mental health disorders.

About The Role:

We are seeking a full-time senior counsellor who has experience leading, supervising, and managing teams to work across our Inpatient Therapy and Day Programs Department. The applicant must possess specialised skills and experience in the planning of and delivery of group-based therapies to patients with a broad range of psychiatric illnesses.

A flexible, innovative, and compassionate approach to working with resistance.

Skills and Experience:

Qualified and registered Counsellor with a minimum 10 years of experience working in an acute mental health setting with adolescence and young adults (aged up to 25yrs).

Demonstrated experience working within a group setting.

Strong understanding and experience working with a range of theoretical frameworks, i.e., DBT, Schema, Attachment Theory, Trauma Informed Therapy, Developmental Psychology, Narrative Therapy, ACT, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Mindfulness.

Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate evidence–based group interventions.

Experience with culturally and linguistically diverse communities

Experience with complex trauma (grief and loss) and PTSD is preferable

Required PACFA Registration

Renumeration:

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and as per the relevant Delmont EA

$99,000 - $130,000 (dependant on years of experience) - base rate with relevant penalties

Requirements:

All Delmont Hospital Employees are required to be vaccinated against Influenza with a TGA approved vaccine and must provide evidence of their vaccination status. This is in accordance with the Secretary Directions and Ministerial Directions of the Department of Health and legislated requirement for influenza vaccination.

All Delmont Hospital Employees are strongly recommended to be vaccinated and up to date with COVID-19 as per ATAGI guidance and the Australian Immunisation Handbook.

Delmont supports a facility-wide risk-based workforce immunisation program consistent with the current immunisation requirements for health care workers.
