About the role

Join the team as an Engineering Officer and play a vital role in supporting the design, construction, and maintenance of critical rail infrastructure systems!

You'll assist with engineering design and drafting, preparing technical drawings, 3D models, and documentation in line with PTA standards. Working closely with engineers, you’ll help shape the layout of infrastructure assets, inspect and review designs for compliance, and contribute to the development of specifications and technical procedures that guide internal and contractor work.

This is a dynamic, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll provide technical advice, support fault diagnosis, and conduct testing across infrastructure systems. From collecting and analysing data to supporting project planning and contract management, you’ll gain broad exposure across rail engineering. You’ll help drive projects forward, track progress, and ensure quality outcomes. Build real-world experience while contributing to the future of public transport in WA.

About You!

To excel in this role, you should possess:

Diploma or degree in engineering with experience in electrical, signalling, communications, or control systems, plus strong design skills.

Ability to research, analyse data, and provide effective solutions and recommendations for engineering challenges.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with stakeholders.

Excellent time management skills and proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office to deliver quality outcomes on time.
