About the role

FGI Developments is seeking an experienced General Civil Construction Manager to join our team in Cairns, Queensland. This full-time role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of civil construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

What you'll be doing

Manage the planning, coordination, and execution of civil construction projects

Oversee the work of construction crews and subcontractors to ensure efficient and timely project delivery

Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets

Identify and mitigate risks to project success

Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and quality regulations

Provide regular progress updates to senior management

Collaborate with other departments to integrate construction activities with the overall business strategy

What we're looking for

Extensive experience (8+ years) in a similar civil construction management role

Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and project management best practices

Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously

Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills

Thorough understanding of relevant safety, environmental, and quality regulations

Proficient in the use of construction management software and tools

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must be able to travel to other states

Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
