The Operations Manager is a key leadership role suitable for an energetic person looking for a career to growth with and manage the full spectrum of our food operations and planning process. Activities include procurement, production, manufacturing and logistics to ensure a seamless supply of manufactured product to meet our national sales demand and inventory targets. Adapting quickly to shifting priorities and operational changes will be an important characteristic.

Working closely with the executive team, this role is integral to driving operational efficiency, food safety compliance, and continuous improvement plus having an involvement with new product development.

We see the successful applicant growing with the company into a multi-site (factory) supervisory role in a dynamic and fast-growing food manufacturing and export business.

Operations

• Plan, implement and oversee daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer orders and stockholding requirements.

• Manage end-to-end production workflows—from raw material procurement to final dispatch—ensuring efficient, timely, and high-quality outcomes.

• Monitor production KPIs, reduce waste, and continuously improve operational throughput.

• Manage cost-of-goods reporting and budget performance related to food production activities.

Procurement & Supply Chain

• Oversee inbound supply to align with production schedules and sales forecasts.

• Managing Inventory and stocktaking.

• Freight management via a third-party service provider.

People Leadership

• Oversee rostering and staffing levels of the factory floor to ensure optimal resourcing.

• Provide leadership, support and build a culture of collaboration, accountability, and performance.

• Identify training needs and support skill development.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Working alongside the QA Officer to implement, maintain and improve our Safe Quality Food standards.

• Implement and oversee key food safety initiatives like staff hygiene, personal conduct, facility usage, and workplace compliance.

• Ensure that all products comply with internal quality benchmarks and external regulatory requirements.

Product Development

• Collaborate with the management / NPD officer and our sales teams to develop new product lines as we respond to market trends and demands.
