They're seeking a dynamic Head of Compliance to lead the compliance strategy, maintain regulatory integrity, and support their commitment to responsible, customer-first operations.

About the Role

As the Head of Compliance, you’ll play a pivotal leadership role in uplifting all things compliance across general lines (retail and wholesale). You will be the key point of contact for regulatory matters, ensuring our operations align with ASIC requirements, AFSL conditions, and obligations under the Corporations Act, Insurance Contracts Act, and Insurance Code of Practice.

This is a highly influential role that spans across the 1st and 2nd lines of defense and works closely with executive leadership, distribution partners, and key internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage enterprise compliance framework, policy, and assurance program

Oversee and maintain the Obligations Register, Incident and Issues Management, and breach reporting processes

Ensure compliance with AFSL, RGs, the Corporations Act, and other relevant legislation and codes

Build and maintain strong working relationships with regulators, third-party distributors, and internal stakeholders

Influence agency and distributor behaviour to drive a culture of risk awareness and regulatory adherence

Prepare compliance reporting for executive committees and the Board

Stay ahead of emerging regulatory trends and proactively manage compliance change initiatives

About You

Proven experience in a senior compliance or legal role within the insurance sector

In-depth understanding of ASIC, APRA requirements, and applicable Acts and codes

Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic thinking capabilities

Experience working across 1st and 2nd line functions

Ability to influence and educate internal and external partners on obligations

Tertiary qualifications in Law, Business, Finance, or related discipline preferred
