So, what’s the role?

As the Senior Manager, Compliance, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Compliance & Regulatory Affairs to deliver an effective and contemporary compliance framework, ensuring alignment with the Bank First enterprise risk framework.

Your role will be vital in managing regulatory obligations, specifically focusing on APRA Prudential Standards and broader regulatory compliance, including AFSL, ACL, AML/CTF, Privacy, and the Community Owned Banking Code of Practice. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure compliance is seamlessly integrated across the business, fostering a strong compliance culture.

In a typical day you will get involved in:

Support the Head of Compliance & Regulatory Affairs in enhancing and implementing the compliance framework with a specific focus on on APRA Prudential Standards and financial stability regulations.

Deliver and execute compliance obligations management, assurance programs, training, attestation processes, and breach reporting.

Deliver second-line oversight assurance and reviews and conduct targeted control testing.

Provide timely, risk-based compliance advice and support to the business, particularly in areas of governance, capital adequacy, and risk management.

Support, challenge, and guide the business with regulatory changes and monitor actions are completed to meet compliance in a timely manner.

Develop Compliance reporting for the Head of, executives and board level forums.

Drive a strong compliance culture, collaborating closely with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure compliance is seamlessly integrated across the business

About you

You are an expert in APRA Prudential Standards and financial services regulations, experience dealing with APRA. You thrive in driving compliance initiatives, particularly around the prudential regulatory landscape. Your experience in compliance management within financial services makes you adept at navigating complex regulatory environments and providing guidance at all levels.

You will come equipped with:

Strong understanding of APRA Prudential Standards and financial stability regulations and experience dealing with regulators.

Expertise in financial services regulations, including AFSL, ACL, AML/CTF, Privacy, and relevant banking codes.

Demonstrated experience in compliance management, with a proven ability to implement and enhance compliance frameworks.

Experience providing compliance advice to senior stakeholders, including reporting to executive management and the Board.

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (preferred) and Tier 2 Financial Services qualifications (desirable).
