Client Details

The client is on a rapid growth trajectory delivering portable storable solutions to customers across Australia. Reporting directly to the National Operations Manager this role will directly impact the performance of the bonus regards its complex Victoria Operation.

Description

The role will manage a team of 10 staff across 2 facilities made up of both warehouse operatives and owner drivers. You will be responsible for the performance of the area and spend your time leading and directing solutions for customers through the management of internal staff and close liaison with the sales team. Expect a fast paced role (Monday to Friday) where you will:

• Lead the Dispatch and Warehousing team (10 staff) in Melbourne across both sites; you will be hands on in your approach and able to jump into the warehouse or onto a truck when needed
• Drive process improvement, alignment with the companies core values and accountability through the Dispatch and Warehousing team
• Ensure safety standards are implemented consistently across the fleet from despatch to delivery
• Oversee the recruitment of team members with support from HR and National Ops
• Managing relationships with a network of delivery contractors.
• Lead Capacity planning across the company and Manag commercial arrangements and maintenance requirements for our fleet of machinery and stock to achieve safety along with cost control
• Oversee expansion into new areas and markets including establishment of key partners, team members, contractors & operating infrastructure

Profile

You have a hands on approach to management and ideally have come up through the Driving route to manage a logistics delivery operation utilising both warehousing and owner drivers. Your experience may be have been gained within third party logistics, haulage or a similar environment where you have controlled delivery of products or equipment to customers with a value added delivery focus
