ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Key accountabilities
Drive priority project implementation of the GMTOAC Gunditjmara Nyamat Mirring Plan, including a monitoring, evaluation and reporting process to monitor and report on progress of the plan and pursue new opportunities for implementation. Provide project development and management support for the delivery of Nyamat Mirring projects and activities.
Build and maintain relationships with relevant government departments, stakeholders and land managers and pursue collaborative opportunities with other Traditional Owner groups.
Lead policy and strategic planning responses to State and Federal Government initiatives relevant to Nyamat Mirring.
Support and where appropriate lead implementation of the Gunditjmara Consultation and Negotiation Protocol with respect to developments occurring on/impacting on Gunditjmara Nyamat Mirring.
Coordinate the administrative responses to offshore petroleum consultation requests, according to the Gunditjmara Consultation and Negotiation Protocol. This will include undertaking administrative functions to monitor the status of environment plans, coordinate correspondence and information materials and assist with the scheduling of meetings for Traditional Owners.
Assist with the response to renewable energy developments that are relevant to Gunditjmara Nyamat Mirring.
Work collaboratively with other Caring for Country programs and partnerships to ensure opportunities and synergies are explored between works programs relating to Nyamat Mirring.

All staff are required to actively reduce GMTOAC’s exposure to losses related to security, public liability and professional indemnity and reporting areas of concern.
Correctly always use and wear any personal protective gear/equipment.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Skills and Qualifications
Experience in policy development desired.
Demonstrated strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple and often conflicting priorities.
Experience in, or a willingness to, undertake natural and cultural resource management activities across Nyamat Mirring environments.
Excellent written communication skills including correspondence, briefing documents, submissions and report writing.
Good communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work with others as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to engage, coordinate and work with a range of stakeholders (including internal, Traditional Owners and external organisations and government), to achieve beneficial outcomes.
Sound computer literacy skills.
Experience in, or a willingness to gain, an understanding of and commitment to Workplace Health and Safety principles.
Eligibility
An awareness and understanding of historic and current issues affecting Gunditjmara and Country, as well as the broader Australian Aboriginal and Torres Islander community and their relationships with the broader Australian society, to communicate effectively and sensitively with Gunditjmara and other stakeholders.
An understanding of the GMTOAC, its operations and activities.
Be committed to Aboriginal self-determination.
Conditions of Employment
Must have a Victorian Drivers Licence.
Ability to obtain a positive National Police and Working with Children Check.
