We’re looking for an experienced person to head a team of empty container forklift operators.This is a hands-on leadership role that requires maturity, good communication skills and flexibility of working hours. Reporting directly to the manager, you’ll be ensuring trucks are serviced quickly, safely and within our KPI’s.

What you’ll be doing

Lead and supervise a team of up to 5 forklift operators

Assist with hiring, performance management and training of forklift operators

Roster shifts for over-time and bulk runs

Work with operations to ensure required tasks are completed every day

Ensure all forklift operators have their breaks on time, covering shifts when absent and stepping in when needed

Champion safety and compliance ensuring OHS, yard policies and safe work procedures are adhered to

Troubleshoot issues and resolve problems that arise during forklift operations

Improve depot efficiencies

The successful candidate will possess the following:

High Risk LF Licence with minimum 5 years empty handler container handler experience an absolute MUST

Minimum 5 years experience working in a container park

Strong computer skills using 1-Stop and/or Containerchain system

Able to work in a fast paced environment with excellent time management skills

Able to work overtime including Saturday mornings on a rotational basis (applicable OT rates apply)

Proven track record in supervision and mentoring employees.

Possess a flexible, solutions-focused attitude with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities

Stronger leadership and interpersonal skills, good verbal communication skills and analytical ability
