The Role:
We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Diesel Mechanic / Maintenance Manager to take ownership of plant, truck, and equipment maintenance across our fleet. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical knowledge and experience in managing workshop operations. If you're confident with diagnostics, scheduled servicing, and take pride in keeping machines and trucks in peak condition, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct scheduled servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy earthmoving equipment, trucks, and light vehicles
Oversee and manage preventative maintenance programs across the fleet
Maintain accurate service logs and records using Fleet Office Online and digital tools
Perform breakdown repairs as needed to reduce downtime on job sites
Organise parts, liaise with suppliers, and coordinate with external service providers
Support and implement workshop safety procedures and WHS compliance
Assist with fabrication and machining tasks (desirable)
Work closely with the General Manager and site teams to support daily operations and fleet performance
Contribute to the continuous improvement of workshop systems and processes
What We're Looking For:
Qualified Diesel Mechanic with experience in both plant and truck maintenance
Strong diagnostic skills and ability to troubleshoot a range of machinery and vehicle types
Proficiency in using fleet management systems such as Fleet Office Online (or willingness to learn)
Ability to manage workshop operations independently and plan maintenance proactively
Welding and fabrication skills (highly regarded but not essential)
Excellent communication, organisational, and time management abilities
Strong safety awareness and commitment to maintaining WHS standards
