About the role

We are seeking an experienced and talented Head Chef to join our dynamic team at Alium Dining in Bendigo, Victoria. As our Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen operations and driving the culinary vision for our acclaimed restaurant. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and supportive environment.

What you'll be doing

· Oversee all aspects of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff management

· Develop and implement innovative and seasonal menus that showcase your culinary expertise

· Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency

· Foster a positive and productive kitchen culture, providing mentorship and guidance to the culinary team

· Collaborate with the management team to align the culinary offerings with the overall business strategy

· Maintain a strong focus on cost control, inventory management, and food safety

· Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, continuously improving the kitchen operations

· Showing commitment to supporting the Front of House team to ensure there is seamless delivery of quality food and service to our customers.

What we're looking for

· Minimum 8 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary leadership role

· Formal culinary training and a recognised qualification in the hospitality industry

· Exceptional culinary skills with a proven track record of creating and executing successful menus

· Strong leadership and team-building abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate a kitchen brigade

· Excellent time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

· Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and cost control measures

· Passion for using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and a commitment to sustainable practices

· A depth of understanding of dietary requirements in developing our menus.
