Boldbridge Group is seeking to engage an experienced Financial Controller. The Financial Controller position has existed in this operation for a number of years, so the successful candidate will be filling an already created role within the executive team.

Boldbridge has a small and focused executive team, headed by the CEO. This position forms a central pillar of the team.

Boldbridge Group is a modern and progressive licensed food, beverage, gaming, events and entertainment club group operating on the Sunshine Coast. Boldbridge Group is best known for its well established venue the Nambour RSL Club and its vibrant new venue The Bower Tree at Sippy Downs. Most importantly the group is owned by its members and local community, generating profits that are reinvested into better facilities and services.

While the maintenance of the full accounting functions is a base requirement of this role, this isn’t simply another internal accounting position. Your skills and experience in providing high-level advice and solutions will come to the fore and be very relevant in this role.

It’s important that you will be able to deliver on the financial and operational reporting and compliance requirements of this major member-based, not-for-profit hospitality operation. From this perspective, elements of the role are hands-on, and you’ll be expected to participate in some of the nuts and bolts of the accounting and IT functions in addition to management oversight.

But in addition to this, you’ll be required to apply your business skills, knowledge of systems, astute reporting capabilities and understanding to the operational side of the business, continually examining better ways to conduct business and achieve superior results. Essentially, you’ll be required to be an internal consultant to the CEO, Board and other members of the executive team.

You’ll naturally want to examine areas of the business and provide briefing papers and various analyses on areas for improvement. As the Financial Controller, you will be a primary point of contact with the Company’s financer and IT support providers. It will be essential for you to maintain strong relationships with these executives and to provide a flow of professional reports and submissions.

The successful candidate will be able to provide business cases, scenario modelling and prepare professional board papers and briefing papers to various internal and external stakeholders. The role also requires strong ownership and oversight of systems integration and interface of point of sale, general ledger, inventory and creditors. You’ll be called upon to identify and implement new technologies and management systems solutions for the Company.

We are seeking a qualified and certified accountant for this role, so you’ll be recognised professionally; CPA, ICAA, IPA, CIMA or ACCA.

You don’t have to have a background in major gaming and hospitality operations but any knowledge in this area would make it easier for you to contribute quickly to the success of the Company.
