About the Role
As APS 6 Senior Procurement Officer you will lead the procurement of goods and services – including information technology and technical support – while ensuring compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and the Government's Compliance Framework.
You will bring strong communication skills, a customer-focused mindset and a practical understanding of Commonwealth procurement. This role offers a great balance of autonomy and teamwork, with plenty of opportunities to influence how things are done.
What You will Do
Provide expert advice and support on procurement matters across the organisation.
Assist in developing procurement tools and delivering training to lift capability across the organisation.
Play a key role in building and maintaining a strong, compliant procurement culture.
- Plan and manage negotiations, contract reviews and risk assessments to ensure value for money outcomes.
What You will Bring
Five years of procurement experience in Commonwealth or State Government.
Strong understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and AusTender.
A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Excellent communication skills and confidence in supporting and educating others.
A good understanding of the APS environment and work level standards.
Competency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level), with advanced skills considered a bonus.
A Certificate IV in Government (Procurement and Contracting) would be highly regarded for this role.
