About the Opportunity
South West Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) are currently recruiting to the Aboriginal Workforce Manager Position (HM3). SWSLHD operates its services on the lands of the Dharawal, Darug and Gundungurra peoples and has a rich history of working alongside local Aboriginal organisations and programs.
The Aboriginal Workforce Manager's role is to provide advocacy, leadership, cultural support, guidance, and education to increase and improve the representation of Aboriginal people across the SWSLHD workforce in all Health professions.
The role will be responsible for reviewing the implementation of the SWSLHD 2022-2026 Aboriginal Workforce Plan and development of a new strategy. Here is a link to the current plan: Aboriginal_Workforce_Plan.pdf (nsw.gov.au)
The Aboriginal Workforce Team includes two positions with the Aboriginal Workforce Development Coordinators (HM2) reporting to the Aboriginal Workforce Manager.
The Aboriginal Workforce Team is based within the People and Culture Directorate which is responsible for leading the development and implementation of workforce strategies, including talent management, organisational development, and a positive work culture.
The Aboriginal Workforce Team is also supported by the Aboriginal Health Unit which supports cultural governance, connection to a large Aboriginal Management group and access to cultural supervision.

The role has an office based in Liverpool/Warwick Farm with travel across SWSLHD and NSW Ministry of Health sites, as required. Flexible working practices are highly supported.
