The Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia Limited (AHCSA) is the peak body representing Aboriginal community-controlled health and substance misuse services in South Australia at state and national levels.
Our primary role is to be the ‘health voice’ for all Aboriginal people in South Australia. We achieve this by advocating for the community and supporting workers through our Member Services with appropriate Aboriginal health programs based on a holistic perspective of health.
Broad Purpose of the Role
The Manager, Digital Health and Innovation is responsible for leading the adoption and integration of innovative digital health solutions to enhance healthcare delivery and outcomes for Aboriginal communities. This role connects emerging digital technologies with community healthcare needs, ensuring that digital health tools are culturally sensitive, accessible, and tailored to the unique healthcare priorities of Member Services and the communities they serve.
The Manager develops strategies to improve healthcare access, quality, and equity for Aboriginal communities by strategically integrating digital health technologies. The position empowers Member Services staff and community members to effectively adopt these technologies by providing culturally appropriate tools, resources, and the necessary knowledge to use digital health solutions.
The Manager also provides expert advice on digital health and innovation, advocating for digital initiatives that support Aboriginal communities. This role involves collaboration with Member Services, technology providers, and other key stakeholders to promote digital health initiatives, guide the adoption of innovative healthcare technologies, and identify partnership opportunities to drive forward digital health solutions.
The Manager reports to and is accountable to the General Manager, Innovation, Evidence and Reform. The position works collaboratively with all staff across AHCSA and Member Services to develop and implement digital health and innovation strategies and provide information and guidance on ACCH sector digital health and innovation matters. It also engages and manages relationships with technology providers and a range of external stakeholders including government and the community.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Leading the integration of digital health solutions in the ACCH sector
Solution Identification and Integration: Leading the evaluation, integration, and optimisation of digital health technologies within the ACCH sector
Support and Capacity Building: Overseeing the provision of ongoing support to Member Services in the adoption of digital health solutions through providing expert guidance, advice, training and resources
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships: Working with key stakeholders to promote digital health initiatives and guide the adoption and use of innovative healthcare technologies and tools to better support Aboriginal communities
Leadership, Advocacy and Policy: Providing best practice leadership, advice and advocacy to support the adoption of digital health and innovation to improve health care for Aboriginal communities
Monitoring, Evaluation and Continuous Improvement: Monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of digital health solutions in the ACCH sector, and identifying improvement opportunities
Team Leadership: Fostering a productive and supportive environment and providing leadership for Digital Health and Innovation Team members
Essential Experience
Experience leading and developing digital health strategies and technologies, and their implementation, management and optimisation.
Experience analysing and interpreting health data and using it to inform high-level decision making and strategies to improve health outcomes.
Experience in the implementation of continuous quality improvement processes related to digital health and innovation.
Experience engaging with culturally diverse stakeholders, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, staff, and ACCHOs.
Desirable Experience
Experience working within the Aboriginal community-controlled health sector, or with clinical primary care services.
Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Health Information Management, Public Health or Health Sciences (with a focus on informatics) or Statistics.

Out of normal hours work may be required.
Requires the ability to travel intra-state and interstate, including overnight absences.
National Police Certificate is required.
