The company’s packing facility operates on the same site as the original family farm, established over 60 years ago. Collaborating with landholders every year, Premium Fresh ensures both good crop rotations and the best growing conditions across the north of Tasmania. Premium Fresh Tasmania personnel prepare the land, plant and nurture the vegetables and then harvest each crop with company owned machinery.

Role Overview
Premium Fresh Tasmania (Farming) is looking for a Full Time Machinery Operator to join our team at Forth Farm. Reporting to the Farm Manager, this critical role is essential to our Agricultural operations. You will be responsible for the safe operation of machinery, including tractors and trucks, across various shifts (day, afternoon, and night) within a 7-day roster. For this position we welcome candidates with prior farming experience and demonstrated machine operation skills. This position is available for immediate commencement. Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

Full manual unrestricted drivers licence

A minimum of 3 years experience driving farming machinery in busy environment

A minimum of 3 years experience in bed forming, lifting, harvesting and irrigation

Desirable:

Truck License - MR, HR or HC

Forklift License

ChemCert Accreditation

Tasks & responsibilities:

Safety Compliance:

Collaborate with the farm team to maintain a safe working environment.

Adhere to all relevant Workplace Health and Safety regulations.

Follow all Premium Fresh Tasmania (PFT) Policies and Procedures to ensure compliance.

Agricultural Practices:

Implement Good Agricultural Practices to uphold product quality and safety standards.

Maintain a solid understanding of product specifications for various products and customers.

Quality Control:

Report any defects or issues in product quality to supervisors promptly.

Conduct routine inspections of machinery to ensure optimal performance.

Maintenance and Cleanliness:

Ensure all farm areas are kept clean and organised to promote a safe and efficient workspace.

Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of farm equipment as required.

Team Collaboration:

Work effectively with team members to achieve operational goals.

Be flexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
