About the role

We are seeking an experienced Animal Attendant to join our team at Waggy Tails Doggy Day Care in Eltham, VIC. As a casual employee, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care and supervision to our canine guests in a fun, safe and enriching environment.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting and welcoming dogs and their owners upon arrival
• Monitoring the dogs' activity and behaviour throughout the day
• Feeding, walking and cleaning up after the dogs
• Ensuring the day care facilities, equipment and play areas are kept clean and tidy
• Providing affection, playtime and mental stimulation for the dogs
• Identifying and promptly addressing any health or behavioural issues
• Maintaining detailed records on each dog's care, activities and any incidents
• Assisting with the overall operations of the day care facility as required

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working in an animal day care, boarding facility or similar pet-related environment
• Genuine passion for and commitment to the health and wellbeing of animals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with both dogs and their owners
• Strong observational skills and the ability to identify and respond to animal behaviour
• Physically fit and able to handle medium to large breed dogs
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
• Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one
