About the Opportunity

As a Turf Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll lead a dedicated team responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the City’s sports turf and infrastructure. From renovation and soluble treatment application programs to irrigation monitoring and seasonal planning, you’ll play a key role in shaping the City’s active open spaces.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supervising and developing the turf maintenance team

Creating and managing turf care programs

Providing expert turf advice to both internal teams and the public

Managing contractors and contributing to tender processes

Overseeing budgets and maintenance reporting

Supporting community sport through collaborative planning and stakeholder liaison

You’ll also contribute to long-term planning, continuous improvement and sustainable turf management practices through engagement with industry partners and government bodies.

About You

You're an experienced turf professional with a passion for maintaining high-quality sports turf and leading people to reach their full potential. You're confident working with specialist equipment and have a strong grasp of modern turf practices. With a proactive mindset, you're comfortable managing programs, solving problems and engaging with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. You're a natural leader who values teamwork, safety and clear communication — and you're ready to step into a role where your skills will have a lasting impact on your community.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

Essential

Minimum Certificate IV in Turf Management or Horticulture or equivalent, with extensive relevant work experience, or a diploma with considerable relevant work experience

Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s licence

White Card

Excellent customer service skills

High level of verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work autonomously and lead and empower a team

Effective time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload.
