About the Role
We are seeking a Systems Administrator to join our Brisbane (West End) office on a permanent full-time basis. The role of the Systems Administrator exists to assist the QNMU with its IT operations. This role reports to the IT Manager and is part of the Business Services Group.
In this hands-on and proactive role, your key outcomes will be:
Administration of the QNMU’s information technology including hardware, network, website, and general software.
Maintaining the QNMU Helpdesk system and coordinating the work of technical support staff, under the direction of the IT Manager.
Contribute to the broader planning of the IT team, including identifying improvements to current systems, technology, and work processes.
The team aspiration for the IT Team is to seamlessly support and enhance the QNMU's overall efficiency by ensuring robust and secure IT infrastructure. The principles of member recruitment and retention underpin this and all positions within the QNMU.
About You
Working with the relevant internal stakeholders and as part of a cohesive team, you will have a professional approach, with the confidence to roll up your sleeves and get the job done.
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Experience in Systems Administrator or similar roles.
General knowledge and experience in managing an organisation’s IT environment– preferably within a member-based organisation.
Experience in assisting with assessments and reporting on IT improvements, challenges and solutions with some exposure to budgeting.
Experience in supporting desktop and server computer systems under guidance.
Experience in assisting with the maintenance and upgrades of IT hardware and software.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Operating systems
Highly skilled in problem-solving and troubleshooting in a Microsoft 365 and Windows environment.
Capability to efficiently learn new software, systems and processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High level interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work in a collegiate and professional environment.
Attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to strategically resolve IT problems both independently and collaboratively.
