The Role
Land Systems Division within the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) is seeking Logistic Officers to either assist supporting the acquisition and introduction of new capability or the ongoing sustainment of in-service equipment.
The APS 5 Logistics Officer is part of a small, multidisciplinary team that provides critical logistics planning, management, governance and assurance for state-of-the-art ADF capability.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting the development of strategies and plans for logistics management, and implementing plans.
- Assisting the development of policies, procedures and processes for logistics management.
- Understanding and responding to stakeholder needs, and engaging with subject matter experts to solve problems and achieve outcomes.
- Liaising with suppliers to help manage priorities and provide comprehensive integrated logistics support to Defence capability.
- Assisting in the development of briefs and reports on project or product achievements against expected performance.
- Building and sustaining effective relationships, and actively participating in teamwork and supporting team development.

Land Systems Division’s (LSD) mission is to acquire and support capability that enables the ADF to generate and sustain deployable Land power for an integrated force, in peace and war. We aim to be agile, innovative and outcomes-focused as we collaborate closely with the Services and industry to deliver the latest equipment to maximise ADF performance.
Our logistics teams work collaboratively with contracting, procurement and technical specialists, as well as other project teams and stakeholders to ensure a compliant and integrated approach to delivering and sustaining equipment, with speed-to-capability and user-safety a priority. Each program works closely with end-users to integrate evolving capability requirements where possible. It is a fast-paced and supportive work environment that provides a unique insight into the strategic delivery of critical Defence equipment.

Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal person for this role will be an experienced and committed logistics officer who, under limited direction, has the adaptability and flexibility required to respond to evolving Defence capability requirements.
To excel in this role, you will:
- Apply a high level of interpersonal, written and communication skills, including strong emotional intelligence and resilience.
- Establish effective relationships to help you resolve problems and adjust priorities where required.
- Understand the complex logistical elements required to support the introduction, operation and long-term maintenance of Defence equipment, and comply with relevant legislative and governance frameworks.
- Be familiar with contemporary logistics management systems, and have a flair for collating and presenting insightful supply-chain data.
- Use your initiative and good decision making to recommend and take action.
- Actively collaborate with stakeholders, team members and subject matter experts to innovate and improve work practices.
- Coach and support others to achieve team objectives, while continuing to pursue your own self-development goals.
