The Role

The Utility Helicopter Systems Program Office (UHSPO) is looking for a Business Support Officer to join the UH-60M Black Hawk team. As the UHSPO Business Support Officer, you will be responsible to the LAND 4507 Director Business Management and Governance and will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of the outcomes of your assigned work.

You will exercise both initiative and judgment in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures. The UHSPO Business Support Officer will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex or difficult issues.

The UHSPO Business Support Officer is critical to delivering a utility helicopter capability for the Australian Army, why not be part of it?

This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. About our Team

The Army Aviation Systems Branch (AASB) purpose is to deliver military aviation systems to the capability managers. AASB is responsible for the acquisition and through-life support of all Army helicopters and tactical unmanned aerial systems through both Project Offices (PO) and Systems Program Offices (SPO) within Australia and overseas.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our Ideal Candidate will have:

  • The ability to acquire in-depth knowledge of, and to apply and advise on, Commonwealth legislation, policy and procedures in order to achieve business unit objectives that contribute to Defence’s mission.
  • Very strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to negotiate desirable outcomes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to engage collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated financial and business acumen, ideally in areas including but not limited to FMS Case financial management, asset management and procurement support.
