Behaviour Therapy Assistant – Complex Needs Support

In this role, you’ll work with individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including substance abuse histories and complex behavioural challenges. You’ll play a key role in fostering independence and enhancing well-being through a blend of behaviour therapy assistance and direct disability support, including personal care.
What You’ll Be Doing
Providing consistent and compassionate support to clients with a history of trauma and challenging behaviours.
Assisting with daily living tasks in a respectful and professional manner.
Implementing behaviour management strategies under the guidance of the therapy team.
De-escalating verbal aggression and managing crisis situations calmly and effectively.
Supporting skill-building activities and community integration.
Maintaining accurate documentation in line with organisational policies.
What We’re Looking For
Experience in trauma-informed care, crisis management and de-escalation techniques.
Ability to work confidently with individuals who may display verbal aggression and unpredictable behaviours.
Strong interpersonal skills with resilience, patience and emotional intelligence.
Experience in supporting people with disabilities and/or mental health conditions (highly regarded).
Current First Aid Certificate, NDIS Worker Check, WWCC, satisfactory police check, and a valid Driver’s Licence.
