Therapies Assistant (Aged Care), Ballina NSW

We currently have an opening for a Therapies Assistant in our vibrant aged care facility situated in Ballina, Northern NSW. The Therapies Assistant is a vital support role for the Clinical Team, aiding in the delivery of therapy programs to residents.

The Opportunity

Permanent full time opportunity

Competitive base hourly rate of $33.92 - $36.51, dependent on qualifications

Salary packaging (up to $18,550 per annum) resulting in less tax and higher take home pay

Key Responsibilities

Assist in providing therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to physical and occupational therapy.

Monitor and document resident progress and response to therapy and provide feedback to allied health team.

Assist with mobility equipment, ensuring safe usage by residents

Apply auxiliary pain management strategies

Support in the education of staff, residents and their families regarding therapeutic activities and interventions, including but not limited to manual handling.

About You

A Certificate III or Certificate IV in a related field (e.g. Occupational or Physical Therapy Assistant)

Prior experience in a similar role, preferably in an aged care setting is highly desirable

Current CPR and First Aid certification

Have compassion, empathy, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of aged care residents

Must be reliable, adaptable and accountable

Consistently demonstrate humility, integrity, respect, and curiosity

Able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
