The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development, and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The Aged Care and Disability Services team aims to provide support services to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over the age of 50 or living with a significant and/or permanent disability to be more independent and to actively participate in their communities. We have locations across the Southeast Queensland region including, North Brisbane, South Brisbane, Caboolture, Sunshine Coast, Gympie and Hervey Bay.
About the Role?
As a Cook / Kitchen Hand within the North Brisbane Aged Care Respite team your primary purpose is to support Day Respite Programs that support eligible Elders of our community, through the delivery of efficient meal preparation, kitchen cleaning and maintenance.
• Ensure appropriate liaising with the Team Leader in the operation of food service and cleaning requirements.
• As part of the kitchen team prepare and present meals to a designated standard, within a quality time frame, in line with program menu schedules.
• Assist in stock control, advising on ordering and receiving of food supplies.
• Ensure food storage, handling and preparation meets prescribed standards, assist in maintaining records of fridge and freezer temperatures, ensuring the kitchen is compliant with health inspection guidelines.
• Contribute to and ensure compliance with the Food Safety Program and Food Licensing requirements
About You?
• Current QLD Drivers Licence
• Current Criminal History Check
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
Desirable, but not mandatory:
• Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
• Cert III in Hospitality or equivalent
