About the role
Tenacious House is seeking a full-time Accountant to join our dynamic team in Joondalup, Western Australia. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and reporting for our growing NFP organisation.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to, and working closely alongside the Executive Manager Corporate Services, you will be a key member of developing the accounting functions in order to support our first-class service delivery outcomes.
Preparing and analysing monthly financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
Performing general accounting duties such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets, wage modelling and forecasts
Preparing grant acquittals
Providing support and advice to management on financial matters
Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and tax legislation
Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing efficient accounting practices
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Prior experience of the Not-for-profit (NFP) sector inclusive of funding acquittals is desirable
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within the Accounting and Financial Accounting & Reporting industries
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting standards
Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office suite
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Tenacious House provides innovative, voluntary residential rehabilitation programs for men, over the age of 18, who are experiencing co-occurring addiction and mental health issues. Through combining residential treatment, hospital, and a range of external adult community services support, it offers an evidence-based and innovative approach to recovery from long-term addiction and mental health conditions in a unique Integrated Recovery and Connection Program.
With significant new funding streams in place, the organisation is rapidly evolving and growing.
