Job Title: Venue Manager – Retail, Café, Production & Events
Location: Swan Valley, Perth, WA
Employment Type: Full-time
(Monday to Friday, including weekend coverage when required)
Salary: $70-$80,000 per annum

As we grow, we’re looking for a skilled and proactive Venue Manager to take charge of our diverse operations.
About the Opportunity
This role is ideal for a driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys variety. As Venue Manager, you’ll oversee our café, retail store, production facility, and tour/events program. You’ll manage people, uphold compliance, drive financial results, and keep operations running smoothly.
Your Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
Lead the daily operations of our café, retail space, and production zones to ensure seamless service and operational efficiency
Ensure all areas comply with food safety, WHS, and environmental health standards
Work cross-functionally to align operations with seasonal trends and business needs
Refine and uphold SOPs for consistency and quality
Represent the House of Honey in dealings with customers, suppliers, tour operators, and tourism/government organisations
Team Leadership & Compliance
Plan workforce needs and manage recruitment from job ads to onboarding
Oversee rosters, conduct performance reviews, and drive staff development
Handle performance issues professionally and offer ongoing coaching
Maintain HR compliance, including VEVO checks, visa documentation, and Fair Work obligations
Payroll & Employment Standards
Oversee payroll processes, leave management, and timesheet approvals
Ensure staff pay aligns with Modern Awards and legal requirements
Maintain accurate employee classifications and records
Manage any workers’ compensation claims and facilitate return-to-work plans
Financial Oversight
Track labour costs and budget performance to meet profitability targets
Approve supplier invoices and manage accounts payable using Xero
Issue quotes and invoices to clients and chase outstanding receivables
Assist in financial reporting for month-end and EOFY
Inventory & Stock Control
Monitor and manage stock levels for retail, packaging, and production
Forecast product demand, liaise with suppliers, and complete EOFY stocktakes
Keep systems, inventory and documentation accurate and up to date
Health & Safety
Foster a safe work environment in line with WHS standards
Hold or be willing to obtain Food Safety Supervisor certification
· Maintain valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Approved Manager certification to comply with licensing regulations
Manage incident responses and support staff returning to work
Event & Tour Management
Coordinate events and guided tours, managing all client contact
Schedule staff and manage logistics for smooth event execution
Prepare and track event-related invoices
Partner with the front-of-house and marketing teams to promote our offerings and exceed guest expectations
What You’ll Bring
At least 5 years’ experience managing venues in hospitality, retail, or production
Strong financial acumen and payroll admin skills (ideally with Xero)
Demonstrated leadership and people management ability
Solid understanding of HR law, Modern Awards, and compliance
Stock control and inventory forecasting experience
Experience running events/tours and managing bookings/invoicing
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Organised, efficient, and a natural multitasker
Desirable Extras
Food Safety Supervisor qualification (or willingness to obtain)
Proven recruitment/interviewing expertise
Experience managing international/visa staff and WHS paperwork
Background in tourism or a busy retail environment
Strong written and verbal communication
Familiarity with Lightspeed, Microsoft Office, and Shopify
