About Us
Eureka Centre Ballarat is a museum and community facility based at the National Heritage-listed site of the 1854 Eureka Stockade and home to the Eureka Flag. Each year it welcomes 55,000 visitors each year, including 8000 students from across the country who engage with our range of Education Programs. An extensive and diverse program of public programs is presented throughout the year. Eureka Centre is a facility of the City of Ballarat.
About the Role:
The Education and Public Programs Officer is based at the Eureka Centre, site of the 1854 Eureka rebellion and home to one of Australia’s most significant artefacts – The Eureka Flag. This is a position responsible for the development and delivery of curriculum and educational content and programs onsite, online and through outreach, as well as ensuring the efficient administration through managing school bookings and maintaining relationships. A vital part of this role is the development and delivery of public programs and events, and practical, hands-on events delivery experience is advantageous. As part of an agile, adaptable and committed team, the role supports the development of interpretative and marketing content.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer the Eureka Education program, including taking bookings, processing payments and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships to grow visitation
- Responsible for the development of curriculum and educational content onsite, online and through outreach.
- Ensure Eureka Education programs maintain relevancy with the Education Department’s curriculum requirements.
- Guide the development of professional learning opportunities for teachers, requiring a research component.
- In consultation with the Eureka Centre Manager, work collaboratively to development and deliver a wide range of public programs.
- Support the development of Eureka interpretative content as directed by the Manager Eureka Centre.
About You:
We are seeking a qualified teacher interested in working in a diverse and inspiring educational and public programming context at a leading social history museum. To succeed in this role, you will have experience in the development and delivery of curriculum and educational content, including and the ability to manage the efficient administration of school bookings and maintaining relationships. A vital part of this role is the development and delivery of a diverse range of public programs. You will enjoy working in a busy and collaborative setting, which is in vital to succeed in this job share role.
