About the Engagement and Advancement Department:

This position is part of the Engagement and Advancement Department (E&A), reporting to the Individual Giving Associate, as part of the Philanthropy and Fundraising team. E&A is responsible for generating fundraising revenue to support QIMR Berghofer’s research programs and protecting and strengthening the Institute’s reputation for research excellence.

Role Purpose / Responsibilities:

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic team player with a flair for communication and customer service. As a key member of the Fundraising and Philanthropy team, you will care for QIMR Berghofer’s donors, process and receipt donations, support fundraising events and campaigns and assist in maintaining the CRM.

The following duties will apply:

  • Enter and process all donations to QIMR Berghofer, issue receipts and resolve donation-related concerns in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of donations from all sources recorded in Raiser’s Edge in collaboration with the Finance team.
  • Assist with the reporting and transfer of designated gifts, including collating gift agreements.
  • Manage the donations phone line and SupportUs inbox. This includes donation intentions, complaints, and requests to update personal information or change communication preferences.
  • Coordinate acknowledgement of giving milestones, donor birthday and sympathy cards.
  • Perform daily engagement activities, including making welcome and thank you calls and sending welcome packs.
  • Support donor event logistics and on-the-day support as required.
  • Record RSVPs for Fundraising and Philanthropy events in Raiser’s Edge NXT.
  • Support the regular giving program, including the set-up of new regular gifts, updating existing regular gift information, proactive declined gift management, and processing cancellations.
  • Provide a high standard of customer care, ensuring consistent thanking and acknowledgement of new donors.
  • Work collaboratively with the Database Specialist and team members to implement and uphold data integrity protocols to ensure accurate recording and reporting on gifts, donors, funders and stewardship actions.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in a similar fundraising or customer service role, along with proficiency in using a CRM or fundraising software (preferably Raiser’s Edge NXT). You will be a natural communicator with strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing an exceptional experience to QIMR Berghofer’s donors.

Remuneration: The salary range is $74,999 - $83,810 p.a. plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a full-time, permanent appointment.
