Apply your well-developed project management skills and knowledge of water resource management to help implement the Territory Water Plan.

The Office of Water Security is a small strategic policy team that advises the Minister for Water Resources; coordinates whole of Government water policy and programs; and works collaboratively with other Government agencies to develop, deliver and report on the Territory Water Plan.

As a Senior Project Officer (AO7) your primary objective is to provide high-level policy, engagement, coordination and project management support to the Office of Water Security (OWS) in leading implementation of the Territory Water Plan and other strategic water policy reform projects and activities, in particular projects that enhance Aboriginal participation in water management.

Your key duties and responsibilities involve undertaking research, policy analysis and or technical analysis on options for water security outcomes to inform policy development and project deliver.

Additionally, you will contribute to the development and implementation of cross-agency research and policy projects focussing on water security, quality, efficiency and reforms in partnership with community stakeholders. You will also be required to prepare, review and coordinate high level reports, briefings and correspondence on water resource management and water security.

To be successful you require, well-developed project management, communication, coordination and organisational skills, supported by demonstrated research, strategic thinking and analytical skills, and experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of government policy.

In return, you’ll receive a competitive remuneration package, inclusive of 11.5% superannuation, 6 weeks’ recreational and 3 weeks’ personal leave, 17.5% annual leave allowance and additional paid leave to cover the Christmas – New Year’s shut-down.
