The Facility
As part of the state wide health service you will be located in this modern 160 bed facility providing high quality health care to the local region. The hospital also offers services in medical, surgical and allied health specialties through inpatient and outpatient departments. The hospital has a strong relationship with the University of Tasmania's Rural Clinical School, and the secondary care facilities are both associated teaching hospitals with contemporary teaching environments.

The Department
The unit is led by an Intensivist who is a Fellow of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) and clinical care is provided by fully qualified Intensivists who are fellows of the CICM with a 24/7 on-call cover arrangement. The unit possesses state-of-the-art equipment to provide advanced mechanical ventilation, continuous renal replacement, haemodynamic monitoring, Echocardiography, ultrasound guided procedures, bronchoscopy and other ICU therapies. The unit is classified by the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) as suitable for foundation and rural training and is currently undergoing re-accreditation.

Requirements

To apply for this position it is essential you hold registration with AHPRA and have at least 6 months Australian ED experience.
