Beacon Strategies is a health and social services consultancy. Established in 2015, we exist to create a more impactful health and social purpose sector in Australia. Every day, we get to work with government agencies, regional health and hospital networks, non-profit service providers and peak bodies across the areas that really excite us — strategy, planning, codesign, implementation and program evaluation.

About the role

As a Senior Consultant, you’ll contribute to delivering a range of consultancy projects related to health planning, service design, evaluation, implementation and organisational strategy.

Throughout the course of your week, your skills and expertise may be utilised to:

Draft evaluation reports for Primary Health Networks (PHNs) that summarise complex stakeholder feedback, service data, and policy context in a way that informs future commissioning decisions.

Create infographics and slide decks that communicate health workforce shortages and proposed solutions to Executive teams at Hospital and Health Services (HHSs).

Present findings from a needs assessment on after-hours primary care services to a PHN and local health system partners, translating technical analysis into practical recommendations.

Conduct interviews with lived experience participants for a suicide prevention strategy, ensuring a safe, respectful, and trauma-informed approach to data collection and reporting.

Analyse the current state of dementia care pathways in general practice, mapping gaps, barriers, and enablers to inform a PHN-led service improvement initiative.

Lead a co-design workshop with service providers and community members to develop a culturally safe model of care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people accessing AOD treatment services.

Synthesise themes from interviews and focus groups with aged care providers to inform an evaluation of a new in-home support service model.

Interpret Medicare and workforce data to identify trends in allied health service access in rural regions, supporting a business case for increased PHN funding.

Undertake a rapid literature review to identify best-practice models of integrated primary care for people with chronic and complex conditions, informing a PHN’s commissioning strategy

Who we're looking for

Experience working in a consultancy or consultancy-like environment

Experience in the health and/or social services sectors

You will have a T-shaped skillset, with deep expertise in one or more of our core areas of work and the versatility to collaborate across other disciplines.

Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. public health, social sciences, policy, service design, business)
