The Data Visualisation, Reporting and Analytics Officer reports to the Senior Data Visualisation Officer and is accountable for the day-to-day management of existing reporting, development and enhancement of reporting, visualising data for assigned ad-hoc requests and contributions to complex data analysis undertaken by the section. You will also be required to liaise with internal and external stakeholders to pre-empt and interpret user requirements, delivering reporting solutions that align with end user requirements.

Specific responsibilities of the Data Visualisation, Reporting and Analytics Officer may include some or all of the following:

Development of complex Power BI reporting products to support business partners, senior executives, and external stakeholders to convey complex ideas with clarity and inform decision making

Development of input into IP Australia’s corporate reporting including IP Australia’s IP Report and other external and internal reports

Maintain a well-developed understanding of current data practices and visualisation tools to manage products across IP Australia’s suite of Power BI products

Support the review of data and visualisation capabilities and identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Contributes to the development of materials to build workforce capability in effective data visualisation.

Supporting engagement with internal and external stakeholder relationships, promoting and supporting services provided by the team across varied subject matters

Contribute to ad-hoc data, analysis and reporting requests from internal customers across varied subject matters including trends analysis and applicant filing behaviours

Contribute to budget cycle processes via collaboration with Finance and IP Rights teams

Co-ordination activities for the distribution IP Australia data sets to external customers.
