About the role

The Catering Company is seeking a passionate and experienced Event Manager to join our dynamic team. As an Event Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of our diverse range of corporate and social events including lifestyle events at the Royal Exhibition Building and Backstage catering at multiple venues. This is a casual position based in our Melbourne Kensington office, offering flexible work arrangements to suit your lifestyle.

What you'll be doing

Collaborating with clients to understand their event requirements and develop innovative event concepts and proposals

Coordinating all logistical aspects of events, including venue selection, vendor management, budgeting, and event scheduling

Ensuring seamless event delivery by managing on-site operations and liaising with catering, entertainment, and other service providers

Monitoring event budgets and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement

Providing exceptional customer service and serving as the primary point of contact for clients before, during, and after events

Collaborating with the marketing team to promote and market our event services

Continuously seeking ways to enhance our event offerings and exceed client expectations

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years of experience in event management, preferably within the hospitality or tourism industry

Strong project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of building successful client relationships

Car license for onsite operations

Proficiency in event planning software, budgeting, and vendor management

Demonstrated creativity and an eye for detail in designing and executing memorable events

Flexible and adaptable, with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service
