🚀About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled Media Specialist to lead end-to-end media planning and execution across both traditional and digital channels for a well-established national retail brand with a large network across Australia. In this role, you’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the executive team and regional managers, while managing external media agency partners to deliver impactful, insight-led campaigns. It’s a hands-on, strategic position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-location retail environment and enjoys balancing national brand objectives with local market needs.
📌Roles & Responsibilities
1. Internal Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with the leadership team to align media activity with national brand and commercial objectives.
Liaise with stores to understand local marketing needs and adapt campaigns accordingly.
Present media plans, campaign performance, and insights to senior stakeholders and partners.
Act as the central point of contact between stores and the broader marketing/media function, ensuring effective two-way communication.
2. External Stakeholder Management
Manage day-to-day relationships with media agencies, ensuring campaigns are delivered on time and within budget.
Provide clear and detailed briefs to agency partners outlining goals, audiences, timelines, and creative requirements.
Review and approve media strategies, placements, and post-campaign reporting prepared by agencies.
Coordinate with external vendors and publishers to support media execution and explore new opportunities.
3. Planning, Strategy & Execution Oversight
Develop integrated media strategies across ATL and digital channels to support national and local campaigns.
Oversee the execution of campaigns, ensuring media plans are delivered accurately and efficiently.
Monitor campaign performance and work with agencies to optimize results based on data and KPIs.
Maintain visibility on media budgets, tracking spend and ROI across all initiatives to ensure cost-effective media delivery.
🧠Key Skills
Able to confidently liaise with both internal & external stakeholders to align media efforts.
Good understanding of ATL (TV, Audio, print, OOH) and digital media (social, search, display, programmatic) channels.
Capable of interpreting media data, optimising performance, and presenting insights in a clear, actionable way.
Skilled in juggling multiple campaigns and timelines across national and local levels.
✅Required Experience
4-7 years in media planning/buying, either in a media agency or within an in-house marketing team.
Experience working with external media agencies, including briefing, reviewing plans, and managing deliverables.
Exposure to multi-location retail or franchise-based marketing, where campaigns must be tailored to local and national needs.
Hands-on involvement in full media campaign lifecycle – from planning and execution to tracking and post-campaign analysis.
Managing media budgets and ensuring ROI through strategic allocation and ongoing optimisation.
🎓Bonus if you have
Experience working in a Media agency across integrated media.
Experience with categories such as retail or e-commerce
