Contract Role | Federal Government Client | Baseline Clearance Required
Location: ACT, NSW or QLD only (Hybrid)
Clearance Required: Baseline Security Clearance
Start Date: 1 July 2025
Initial Contract Duration: 12 months (to 30 June 2026)
Extension Options: 2 x 12-month extensions
Work Hours: Full-time, up to 40 hours per week
Working Arrangements: Hybrid – in-office presence required; flexible arrangements considered after initial onboarding, subject to approval

About the Role
We are seeking experienced Project Managers to support the delivery of major ICT transformation initiatives for a prominent federal government client. This program of work focuses on enabling integrated, efficient systems that support legislative and policy changes, drive digital innovation, and improve client service delivery.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidates will lead complex projects end-to-end, ensuring successful outcomes across software development, business process change, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver project and program benefits relating to software and physical asset development
• Develop and manage detailed project work plans and schedules
• Coordinate project deliverables across multiple releases
• Translate technical concepts into business language for diverse stakeholders
• Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
• Report regularly on project status, risks, and dependencies
• Identify and escalate project risks and issues
• Develop high-quality project documentation including business cases, risk registers, schedules, change requests, and reports
• Promote continuous improvement and contribute to project methodology and governance
• Support skills transfer and compliance with record-keeping policies

Skills & Experience Required
Essential:

• Minimum 3 years of project management experience in government
• Proven ability to lead projects to successful outcomes within scope, schedule, and budget
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated experience producing high-quality documentation
• Ability to manage risks, engage stakeholders, and coordinate interdependent activities

Desirable:

• Experience delivering projects in Scaled Agile or other Agile environments
• Previous experience in a federal government project delivery context

Additional Details

• Eligibility: Must be an Australian citizen with a Baseline security clearance
• Work Location: Hybrid arrangement, with onsite attendance required (post-induction flexibility considered)
