What you’ll be doing

• Supporting the Editor in overseeing daily newsroom operations
• Mentoring and guiding a team of passionate journalists
• Ensuring quality, accuracy, and ethical standards across all content
• Driving story generation, including local investigations and features
• Leading digital-first publishing strategies
• Representing the publication in the local community and media events

Must-haves

• Minimum 5 years of journalism experience
• At least 2 years in a senior editorial or newsroom leadership role
• Strong editorial judgement and ability to manage deadlines under pressure
• A passion for regional storytelling
• Based in or willing to relocate to Orange, Dubbo, or Bathurst
• Current driver’s licence

Nice to have

• Experience leading multimedia content production
• Strong understanding of digital audience engagement and SEO
• Background in regional or community newsrooms
