About: A leader in the food industry, our client is a privately-owned Australian company that specialises in creating fresh convenience foods. Due to the continued success and growth of the business, we have a fantastic opportunity for talented Maintenance Fitter's to join their teams.
Role and Responsibilities: As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the production lines and machinery. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting routine maintenance and inspections of machinery, equipment, and production lines to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
- Performing repairs and troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic systems to minimise downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and recording maintenance activities accurately.
- Responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and restoring operations in a timely manner.
- Assisting in the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of machinery and equipment.
- Following safety protocols and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of maintenance processes and procedures.
- Monitoring spare parts inventory and submitting requests for replacements as needed.
Qualifications and Skills: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Trade qualification or apprenticeship as a Maintenance Fitter
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter, within the food manufacturing industry.
- Solid knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance techniques and tools.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
