Role and Responsibilities: As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the production lines and machinery. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting routine maintenance and inspections of machinery, equipment, and production lines to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
• Performing repairs and troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic systems to minimise downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
• Carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and recording maintenance activities accurately.
• Responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and restoring operations in a timely manner.
• Assisting in the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of machinery and equipment.
• Following safety protocols and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of maintenance processes and procedures.
• Monitoring spare parts inventory and submitting requests for replacements as needed.

Qualifications and Skills: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Trade qualification or apprenticeship as a Maintenance Fitter
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter, within the food manufacturing industry.
• Solid knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance techniques and tools.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
