- Remuneration: $135,483 to $153,562 pa (HEW8) (inclusive of $114,485 to $129,761 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Senior Developer/ Data Scientist to join Office of the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Research), Academic Division.
The Senior Developer/Data Scientist will support the Digital Observatory team in ensuring the optimum operations of the Observatory, professional delivery of research services, elevated uptake of research infrastructure capabilities, and establishing systems and processes towards efficient and effective delivery of these capabilities. The Senior Developer/Data Scientist will apply specialist expertise to research and development activities across a broad range of projects within the Digital Observatory. The role requires expertise to develop, extend, maintain and support an existing ecosystem of research software and data infrastructure, and to develop new tools and platforms. The role identifies and makes recommendations on key technologies for ingesting and processing dynamic digital data such as social media data in collaboration with researchers and Digital Observatory team members. This role will contribute to the strategic and operational delivery of the Digital Observatory projects.

The Digital Observatory is a research infrastructure facility that was established in 2018 with a mission to enable world-leading research based on dynamic digital data within a vibrant ecosystem of researchers and research infrastructure services in a collaborative and FAIR manner. The Digital Observatory is a small team of Data Scientists and Developers that aims to support researchers, independent of their specific topical, thematic, or disciplinary orientation, to conduct innovative research that impacts science and society..

By helping researchers overcome the computational and governance challenges, we enable researchers to observe, analyse, and interpret human interactions on the web, thus driving research innovation and excellence.
